Professional French - Communicate effectively in your professional environment - CLOE Français langue étrangère

The programme is built around an individual diagnostic interview designed to identify the participant's initial level, professional context, communication needs and objectives.

The content is adapted to the participant's professional environment and may include:

• introducing yourself, your role, your company and your professional background;
• communicating with colleagues and professional contacts on a daily basis;
• understanding and responding to instructions and requests;
• asking questions and requesting clarification;
• participating in meetings and professional discussions;
• expressing opinions, agreeing and disagreeing appropriately;
• explaining a task, process, problem or situation;
• presenting products, services, projects or areas of expertise;
• handling telephone calls and online meetings;
• writing and responding to professional emails and messages;
• summarising information and communicating key points;
• handling common professional situations and unexpected communication challenges.

Learning activities include professional role plays, authentic workplace situations, guided conversations, listening and speaking activities, written communication tasks and personalised feedback.

Participants may also use an online learning platform to practise and reinforce the skills developed during the coaching sessions.

Training delivery methods:

• individual coaching delivered online and/or face-to-face;
• hybrid training with an immersive component;
• intensive immersion over several days.

The immersive approach encourages the practical use of French in situations close to real-life and professional contexts, helping participants develop communication skills that can be transferred to everyday situations.

Assessment methods:

• initial assessment during the diagnostic interview;
• continuous assessment throughout the training;
• guided self-assessment;
• mandatory CLOE French certification at the end of the CPF-funded training.

The CLOE certification is conducted entirely online:

• written assessment completed online with asynchronous remote monitoring;
• oral assessment conducted by videoconference by appointment.

At the end of the training, the participant will be able to:

• communicate more clearly and effectively with French-speaking colleagues and professional contacts;
• understand and respond to information, questions and instructions in common professional situations;
• participate in professional conversations and meetings with greater confidence;
• explain their role, activities, products, services or areas of expertise in French;
• express opinions, ask questions and clarify information appropriately;
• communicate with greater autonomy in their French-speaking professional environment.

The participant's level of French language proficiency is assessed through theCLOE French as a Foreign Language – Communicate in a Professional Context certification (RS7671).

For CPF-funded training, sitting the CLOE certification is mandatory at the end of the training. The certification assesses written and oral French language skills in professional contexts and uses the levels of theCommon European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
